Group Description :
An opportunity to share and discuss your views and opinions of challenging, recently published literature, such as Man Booker Prize-winners etc. The chosen books will contain some or all of the following challenges:
Unconventional structures and punctuation (or total lack of); foreign names and languages; slang; dialects; swearing; blasphemy; controversial and sensitive subjects eg: abuse, violence, terror, drug use, war, sex - and maybe even some cheery ones!
Books read so far and typical of the type of book to be discussed are: “A Brief History of Seven Killings” – Marlon James; “Umbrella” – Will Self.
The meetings are on Monday afternoons, probably quarterly, at members' houses by agreement.
