Walk: This 4 1/2-mile walk starts and finishes at the Leigh Arms, Warrington Rd, Acton Bridge, CW8 4QTY
It's a fairly easy walk suitable for a hot summer's day. The walk will include a mix of roads, wood, canal/river banks and tracks. There are no stiles or fields with animals.

We take a clockwise route from the Leigh Arms on tracks and fields to reach the Trent & Mersey Canal which we follow before heading up over a hill then back down to the canal. On reaching the Saltersford Tunnel we walk up over the hill and back down to the canal again then down to the River Weaver where we will take a break at the Saltersford Locks.
The final part of the walk takes up along the river for 1 1/2 miles back to the pub.
Terrain: . Boots are not required unless we get plenty of rain beforehand. Sticks will be useful on the descents. Shorts will be OK with only the occasional nettle to circumvent.
Elevation: There are 3 climbs in the first half, none of them steep or particularly challenging with a total climb of 70m.

Meet: Unless you tell me you need a lift I will assume you are travelling directly to the Leigh Arms car park for a 10 am start. The second entrance does not have a barrier.
Meet at the Leigh Arms car park 09:55am please, so that we can start walking shortly after 10:00am, after placing our food order. The walk will take about  2h 30m.

Break: Usual short break part way round.

A table will be booked for 12:45. The pub will open the doors at 10 for us to pre-order.
