PLEASE READ THE DETAIL ABOUT LUNCH.
The Walk: This gentle 5-mile walk starts and finishes at The Plough, Beauty Bank, Whitegate,
Northwich, CW8 2BP. The pub is 11.25 miles, 27 minutes from Holmes Chapel.
Leaving the pub we head towards Foxtwist Green, entering fields to reach Grange Lane. Crossing here we bear left up a bank, passing the entrance to Sutton Fields before entering a dirt track leading to St Mary's Drive. Crossing here we find the golf course, bearing left at the 13th tee to enter Rookery Wood. After a footbridge and a field, we skirt the golf course, finally reaching the road. After a short road walk we find New Pool and enter woods, following a stream., which we leave to walk tracks to the Daleford's Lane at Sherratts Rough. On reaching a cross-road we continue past the Village Hall, taking a track to The Plough.
Terrain: Tracks, fields, woodland and minor roads with 5 stiles. Some inclines. Can be muddy in places! Good boots strongly recommended.
Meet and Start: Meet at 09:45am at the pub for walk to start at 10:00am. I will meet everyone at the pub.
Break: Usual short break part way round. Do bring a snack and a drink.
Lunch: I have provisionally booked a table for 6 for 12:45pm.
Please let me know by Sunday 10th August latest whether or not if you are eating at the pub. If you are eating, please let me have your food choice - we will need to pre-order if there are 8 or more eating.
