Walk name and description and date: Bollington: Millwood Way and Macclesfield Canal, Thursday 26th June 2025
Description: the walk is a gentle circular on the flat, covering about 7.5 miles.
We will start from the (free) car park on Addlington Road in Bollington. SK10 5JT.
It is very straightforward following the Millwood Way north to Nelson Pit Visitor Centre. Continue through the carpark to the Macclesfield Canal.
We return to Bollington along the canal leaving it near the old mill buildings and walking through the Recreation Ground back to the car park on the other side of the road.
Estimated walk time: 3.5 hours.
Distance: 7.5 miles
Terrain: No roads and flat. No stiles.
Meeting point: Car park on Addlington Road, Bollington SK10 5JT
Meet at 9:45 am ready to leave at 10:00 am (latest).
I have not booked a meal anywhere but take a packed lunch if you wish.
Equipment: Walking boots, waterproof gear if wet, hat & sun cream if sunny.
