The Medium Walks Group Mince Pie Walk will start this year at Little Budworth Country Park and will head towards the western fringes of Winsford before returning via Oultonlowe. Artisan mince pies by Mandeville's of Holmes Chapel will be handed out free of charge during the refreshment break. Please bring sufficient additional food and drink as I will not be organising a pub meal after this walk.
11.7 km (7.3 miles), total ascent 59 m.
From the car park at Little Budworth Country Park we head down Coach Road to turn left onto Park Road. This becomes Vicarage Lane which leads us through the centre of the village. Shortly after passing St. Peter's Church on the left we meet Well Lane which takes us out of the village and becomes a track.
We walk through fields for a good two kilometres, pasing Old Hall and Fairacre Brook House Farm on the way. Eventually, we reach a narrow and quiet tarmac lane and turn right along it. This is Blakeden Lane, and we follow it for about a kilometre and a half to Hebden Green. Here, we turn right onto a track which runs alongside Poolstead Brook and passes Woodford Hall on the left.
Soon after Fennywood Farm, we cross over the Darley Brook and have a view towards Adjuncts Covert on the right. Straight ahead at a path junction leads to Cocked Hat Covert and then after traversing several more fields, we reach the corner of a lane at Oultonlowe.
Rather than joining the lane, we turn right and head northwards towards the Oulton Park motor racing circuit. Fields paths lead us to the east of the lake and racetrack via Lower Farm and Home Farm and eventually to Well Lane, which we follow for the few hundred metres back to the car park.

Owing to the proximity to Christmas there will be no organised pub lunch on this occasion. Please bring your own refreshments. Free mince pies will be offered during the coffee stop halfway round.
