Group Details For Local History Forum (24/25 Season)


Group Description :

This is a working group for those wishing to find out more about local history and the sources available. These include written and printed material, maps, post cards, Parish Magazines, newspapers, the 1910 Land Tax Survey and online resources. 

Members are encouraged to write and present on topics of interest to themselves and the group. The group has its own website with a wealth of information on the history of Holmes Chapel and recently launched a separate online Photo Archive which should prove to be a valuable resource for the whole community. There are visits to places of historical interest in the area in the summer months and other social events.

The cost of hiring a well equipped hall for meetings necessitates a cost of £10 per member per term payable in September, January and April.
