Walk name and date: The Space Invader, 3 Station Road, Goostrey, CW4 8PJ on Wednesday September 9th 2026

Walk Description: The walk starts at The Space Invader and is a circular walk heading towards Blackden and heads back across the fields.  If dry the walk may include the Bongs or if wet will walk closer to the Lovell Telescope.  The walk will include some road walking and bridle tracks as well as field paths. Some of the paths may be muddy particularly after heavy rain.

Estimated walk time:     2 hours.

Distance:            Not more than 5 miles

Terrain:                Generally flat

Stiles:                  None, a few kissing gates 

Breaks:                Usual break part way round for a drink. Lunch available at The Space Invader  after the walk.

Meeting Point:  Holmes Chapel Community Centre car park at 09.30am or to leave the car park at The Space Invader at 10.00am. Please inform the Group Leader if you plan to travel straight to The Space Invader.

Equipment:        The usual walking boots, waterproof coat, and trousers with gaiters if preferred. Suitable hat and suncream if hot. 

Lunch: I have booked a table at the Space Invader, and suggest we may use their "Senior Social" lunch menu which costs £15 for two courses including a pint or a glass of wine or soft drink.
