Holmes Chapel – Hermitage – Dane Meadow
Walk Description: A leisurely, mostly flat walk with a couple of mild inclines and a few steep steps that takes in Holmes Chapel Village, Hermitage Bridge, a meander along the Dane, crossing the A-50 at The Vicarage and on through part of Dane Meadow, returning to the village. Drinks in one of the local watering holes.
Estimated walk time: One-and-a-half hours
Distance: Approximately 2.6 miles
Pace: Leisurely
Terrain: Mostly flat, roads, lanes, fields, down to Dane Bridge with a mild incline at the end of the river stretch and a steep staircase up from Dane Meadow. Potential for mud and cattle.

Breaks: None
Meeting Point: Holmes Chapel Library, 7 pm
Equipment: Walking shoes or boots (not light footwear). Poles useful. Rainwear if needed.
