Tuesday Evening Walk, 11th August 2026, 7-9:30 p.m.
Walk Description: Goostrey-The Bongs and Swanick Farm
We park at The Crown, turn left onto Church Walk and left through The Bongs, which are currently unusually dry. At Mill Lane turn left and then right along a public footpath through Swanick Farm, turning left before the farm following the permissive path. At Booth Bed Lane turn left and then left again along Sandy Lane to reach Goostrey Lane, where we turn left again and return to The Crown through the village. (2.5 miles)

Distance: 2.5 miles
Pace: Leisurely
Terrain: Mostly flat with minor inclines and declines through the Bongs, where the ground is uneven in places. Woods, farm tracks, lanes, minor roads. Cattle not expected.
Stiles: NONE
Breaks: None planned, but there are plenty of benches along the route if needed. Drinks at The Crown after the walk.
Meeting Point: The Crown in Goostrey at 7:00 p.m. ready to walk. If anyone needs a lift, please contact the leader.
Equipment: Strong walking shoes or boots (not trainers. Clothing appropriate to the weather and conditions (likely to be warm and dry). Poles always useful. Water, snack if desired.
