Group Details For Science and technology; Bees Under Threat!

Group Description :
Bees under threat

Most people are aware that bees are threatened in some way, but most people are unaware that there are many thousands of different species of bee.  Which bees are threatened and in what way?  In this talk Peter and Hazel Sutcliffe will address these questions and explore the wonderful world of the bee, which is truly a demonstration of the inventiveness of evolution!

Pete Sutcliffe grew up with beehives in the garden at home and has kept bees in his own right for forty years.  He is a qualified “Master Beekeeper” and Chair of the Cheshire Beekeepers’ Association.  Hazel Sutcliffe gave up resistance a couple of decades ago and now forms a beekeeping partnership with Pete.  Hazel supplies the botanical knowledge being an expert on the forage for bees.
